…with Orion overhead on a clear Texas evening:
Super Pix John! Perhaps a submission to ARRL’s Annual Picture contest? My stars, a 1st Place winner!
A sky like this is a rarity here – usually light pollution from Houston (20 mi south) washes out the dimmer starts but a cold front had just passed through and there was no humidity to absorb and re-reflect the city light.
Did you use a flash to get the outline of the Yagi to stand out more? Yes, too much light pollution now days especially up here in NJ/NY area. Every time I see nighttime star pixs I’m totally blown away.
Nope, just ambient for that – shutter speed was 1 sec.
Nice to see that the stars at night are, at least sometimes, still big and bright deep in the heart of Texas!
I was going to reference that old song but didn’t think folks in other states would even know what I was talking about…!
