2012 DXCC Year End Review de W1JR (500k pdf)

Thanks to Joe W1JR for an interesting summary of DXing in 2012 – and thanks to Bernie W3UR of The Daily DX for permission to post it here.

Working DX through all the adversity – other DXers, QRM, QSB, pirates, antenna problems, etc – is fun, frustrating and, most of all, fulfilling.

Joe’s summary of the year allows the DXer to step back and take in the big picture.

Many thanks also to the DXpeditioners, DXers and others – all of whom had a hand in making us better DXers and increased our DXCC count.

Download Joe’s write-up here as a 7-page (500k) pdf file.

Question… Why is it necessary for DXCC to wait until a DXpedition is over before declaring it OK for DXCC credit? Why the delay which in some cases has guys submitting cards that are denied only to have to resubmit the card when that DXpedition is finally given OK?
    1. DX has a license or they will be arrested for operation without one due to national enforcement of their airwaves.
And the license is IN Hand prior to or at least at the beginning of the operation.
    2. It is easy with photos and witnesses to prove the DX is located where they claim, and these photos can be available the first day of the ops.
    3. With email, the DX’s national license office can be contacted before or at the first day of an op to confirm the license is valid with the issuing office.

What can be the hold up now-days? de K4VUD Charly
