After pushing back the release date for months, the new batch of kits are finally ready – or nearly so. Still need to bag the semiconductors (will do that tonight)and start burning CDs for the manual. I figure I can start shipping on Monday, 11/10/10.

All orders will be shipped priority mail this time, even DX. The little brown boxes took way too long to clear customs last time and had no tracking number.

International priority mail is more expensive, but will get the kit there a lot quicker and can be tracked, just in case.

Changes to the rev a kits:

Three major’ish changes -

1. Eliminated the Rx input toroids and replaced with RFC’s. This one change eliminates the biggest problem builders had getting the rig to work.(should have thought of that a long time ago!) All bands are now double tuned inputs.

2. Display replaced with 3 x 16 ascii LCD. This was done because I accidently ordered these instead of the graphics version for the first run – a $900 mistake – so I had to use them! One side effect of using this display is it doesn’t need a seperate, higher voltage supply for contrast. Therefore the rig will now run down to 5.5 volts without the display fading out.

3. ON switch moved from side of top cover to top of cover.
