Building, Tinkering & Operating
QRPers probably account for the majority of
the building, tinkering and soldering that occur in ham radio
today. There is something inherently fascinating about having
a handful of parts, a circuit board, and iron and a few feet
of solder on one day and then, a few days later, having a QSO
with someone across an ocean with your completed project.
For some, the main enjoyment is the construction.
For others, it's the sense of accomplishment at putting the
project to work - operating in the various QRP contests and
sprints or just seeing how many states, countries or guys named
"Bob" can be worked with what was previously a Bag
'O Parts.
The links to the left offer a look at what's
available in QRP kits and activities and what other QRPers sound
like on the receiving end.
